At the Cirque tonight…

askmegannoel:

All the teen could do was wait.

The sign outside the camp said “Cirque du Freak” alright, but the sun was high in the sky. The vampire wouldn’t come out for an hour or two at the least. She quietly crawled back into the hole in a tree that she’d selected as her sleeping place, and shut her eyes.

The dream came again…The one with her mentor and the man in red. She was in her mentor’s place, feeling the man in red rip her to pieces. She woke up in a cold sweat, sometime in the middle of the night. Night, finally.

She looked up to see the Cirque bright and alive. Pulling her black jacket close to her, she stood and dashed to the entrance. Hopefully no one would notice the half-vampaneze girl, the student of the late Murlough…….

She wandered until she found a broken down trailer, and knew in a moment that it had to be Crepsley’s. She crouched outside, behind a tree, waiting for him to either appear or walk out of the trailer.

With his deep-red trench coat getting swept by the wind, Larten Crepsley paced forward, leaving trails of footsteps along the moist muddy ground. That night was chilly— the wind blew no matter where he was. Not that he mind that in the slightest.

He cursed when he felt something cold on his feet, and without even having to look at it, he knew it was the mud. He made a displeased groaning noise softly. But that didn’t hold for long as he sniffed something… different in the air.

The orange-haired vampire stopped walking altogether, eyes moving in all of the directions, trying to spot where that disturbing smell came from. It was the smell of Vampaneze, although it wasn’t so strong. Maybe a half-vampaneze. And that person must be in a considerably close proximity for him to be able to catch such smell.

However, he disliked underestimating his opponent. So, he prepared his horses in his mind, getting ready for whatever to come.

“Show yourself,” He whispered into the night, letting the wind deliver the message into the ears of the monster, who was definitely close by.
